Janice Doughman LNHA

Administrator

Janice has been a nursing home administrator since 2001.  She started her long-term care career in Riverton, NJ and after holding the position of administrator there for 14 years moved to Slate Valley in 2015. Janice has a juris doctorate degree with a certificate in Health Law from the University of MD School of Law. She also earned her Master of Science degree in Management from Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to working in health care, Janice was in the Air Force for 9 years.  After joining a group of airmen who visited nursing homes on the holidays, she decided to work to make nursing home administration her next career. Janice loves working at Slate Valley and being part of a special team of people who make resident care with compassion a mission they live every day.

Outside of work Janice has 3 cats and a husband who bring her joy. She is a member of the Granville Lions Club and serves on the board of the United Church of Granville.

Shelisa Price

Assistant Administrator

Shelisa Price joined the Slate Valley Center team in early 2024. She received her Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration in 2017 and is currently finishing her Master’s degree in healthcare administration specializing in leadership.

Shelisa is participating in the administrator in training program working with Janice Doughman. Her training program is two years. Shelisa has worked in healthcare since 2016, both in long -term care and hospital settings. Shelisa has had a passion for long-term care since her own experiences with her mother’s care. She finds helping families navigate their experiences rewarding and looks forward talking with residents daily.

Shelisa loves spending time with her husband, two daughters and dog Oakley. Oakley is a regular visitor to Slate Valley Center and the residents love spending time with him.

Tamme Taran RN, BSN

Director of Nursing

Tamme joined the Slate Valley team as the Director of Nursing in August 2020.  She brings over 35 years of Long Term Care experience with her to this position.  Through the years she has held many roles in the LTC setting from CNA to Director of Nursing.  Tamme received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Castleton State University in 1987 and went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Kaplan University.

Tamme lives in Hampton, NY with her husband Joe where they raised their three sons.  She lives on her family hobby dairy farm with their two dogs Malibu and Cooper.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening and working with her cows getting them ready for shows.

What brings her joy in the Long Term Care setting is having the opportunity to increase a person’s quality of life and seeing smiles on the faces of those that live here every day.

Kylie Cavallaro OTR/L

Director of Rehabilitation

Kylie Cavallero joined the Slate Valley management team as the Director of Rehabilitation Services in 2022. Since that time, she has developed a dedicated therapy team at this facility.  She received her BA in Biology from Russell Sage College in 2013 and went on to receive a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from The Sage Colleges in 2015. Kylie worked as a staff occupational therapist in many settings since graduation, but always felt her calling was in long term care. Here at Slate Valley, Kylie feels it is truly a family.  She loves learning about each resident and how she can best help them achieve their goals.

Kylie and her husband moved to the Granville area in 2021 to raise their children outside of the busy suburbs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking and gardening, as well as spending time with her family.

 

Bailey Greenough ADC

Director of Recreation

Bailey Greenough started at Slate Valley in 2021 where she was an Activity Assistant. She then furthered her education to become Activity Director Certified and started as our Recreation Director in October of 2023. She is very passionate about helping others and exploring the interests of each resident. Her main goal at Slate Valley is to try and make the residents lives more enjoyable and fun.

Bailey lives in the small town of Whitehall, NY and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her 2 cats, as well as reading and teaching dance to children.

For the absolute highest quality of care, Slate Valley Center staffs medical providers on each unit who stay in constant communication with leadership throughout the day. Team collaboration is our forte, and this commitment helps us maintain an unbeatable continuum of care.

Our team also works hard to keep therapies as consistent as possible, tracking all communications through an advanced electronic medical record system. This ensures immediate transmission of information across the entire care network.
